Taxiing in after what may have been this aircraft's final landing, this A340 is the biggest aircraft to come to Sanford in quite some time. Unfortunately, its destination here would not be the passenger terminal, but the scrap line.

Not even 16 years and already being scrapped? Is there a reason? No more life left?

This is the one of the two Gulf Air aircrafts that are at SFB. I was lucky to get into the cockpit of this very aircraft by visiting the company who bought it. Great picture!

Yeah,in 2011 the 747 ''returned''.Oddly it was a Virgin Atlantic 747(which Virgins and 747s are currently rare at SFB) and it's destination was Fort Walton Beach which is at Eglin AFB!Who knows why it was there and why it was headed for VPS (bonus:I got to see it take off)?!
