Following take off, the tower reported to the pilot that the starboard main undercarriage door had failed to close. Four unplanned circuits were then performed, with sereral attempts being made to persuade the defective door to close. When these all failed, the planned 2 hour test flight was cancelled, with the Vulcan returning directly to its nearby base at Bruntingthorpe.

It is good to see good old Vulcan still roars and rules the sky! I thought they have been retired few years ago. One of my favorite birds with its very special white-green camouflage especially after I had a chance to see one of them in RAF museum in London.
