The poor chopper seen upside down lost its engine a few hundred yards from Cupecoy Beach. The pilot was able to auto-rotate to a safe ditch with his 2 sightseeing passengers. It's now being towed to St Maarten Shipyard past the HNLMS Van Amstel. A pretty strange sight!

What the ... ! Another chopper crash here ! A year ago a copter was lost between TFFJ and SABA and a PA-32 during his approach at TNCM.

I wonder why the pop-out floats were not deployed?! That is what they are carried for!
