Is this the end, or is it being converted to a freighter or something?

After a over one year storage the crashed 747 will be scrapped soon ...
It's a very sad sight - anyone who can tell me where I can get a piece of wing for my desktop?

Any chance this is just part of a (very) heavy maintenance check? Or is she done? If so, very sad.

So sad to see this baby in this shape. Perhaps it will be for airport firemen trainin´ on a 747. If it gets repaired, what a luck. T.B.

My god! I saw her in summer last year, already in a very dirty condition but it's quite shocking what they've done to her now!
she slipped off the runway last winter. you can see the pics here.

This was one of our A/C. I work for Atlas Air Inc. this was a cargo 747-200 classic tail # N808MC. It is sad to see it now, but it was at the end of it's economic life and its scrapping lengthened the lives of a few more of our classic fleet (which we are replacing with 747-400's and 747-8's). As we move on and replace the few classics we have left, this was a necessary measure. It served well, but it was its time to go. Actually I know a few crew members who have the cargo door, nose cone, ect. and I've been inside this A/C during one of its final checks. You might see a few more of our classics looking like this soon.

Its kind of sad though, to become bits and pieces after such great service.
