Delivered July 45, this B-17G is now the star of the Yankee Air Force Museum. On this photo, she is serving as a tanker with Aircraft Specialties, based Mesa. She was one of the 5 B-17 playing in the movie Tora Tora Tora in 1970, before being sold to the Yankee Air Museum in june 1986 and rebuilt as a complete B-17G . From my collection.

Old propliners are always welcome in my book! I am grateful to see a picture of Yankee Lady in an earlier guise. This airplane is special to me, as my dad treated me to an unforgettable flight - the kind crew let me sit in the nose for the landing!
