This B-17G is being restored in the Flying Tigers Warbird Museum. This plane was used in WWII, thereafter it was bought by Pratt & Whitney which rebuilt it and put a fifth engine (turboprop) in the nose of the aircraft. Therefor they had to place the cockpit 4 ft backwards. It has been flying as testbed with the fifth (turboprop)engine in the nose. Nowadays, they restored the cockpit in its original position. It will be flying as 'Liberty Belle'.*** CRASHED 13 JUNE 2011: Crashed after engine fire.
