The Baby Albatross glider came from Hawley Bowlus's San Fernando, CA factory in 1940. Bowlus was an eminent man in aviation - his design philisophies helped Charles Lindbergh engineer his own aircraft. He taught Lindbergh and his wife to fly gliders and later lectured aeronautical engineering in California with German glider pioneer Martin Schempp. This lovely example is preserved at the superb Seattle Museum of Flight Restoration Center.
