A visitor from - posted Thu September 10, 2009: Sorry to all those who think that this is correct crosswind technique but you're dead wrong. It is if you're in a cessna, but not in a low-winged airliner with wing-mounted engines. They risk a pod strike like this and were obviously caught off guard by a gust. Proper technique is to crab into the wind and kick out the rudder just prior to touchdown. Great photo.

A visitor from United States posted Mon August 6, 2007: Cheers to the flight crew for getting this bird on the ground safely. I fly thru LAS regularly, and this is almost always what the landings are like. Very hot temperatures outside make it a very bumpy approach in the desert!
A visitor from United States posted Mon August 6, 2007: This is a very proper crosswind landing for that size jet in a crosswind of 20-25kts, right before touchdown dip the upwind wing and "roll" the plane to the ground. Excellent shot.
