Just another 152 on a grass strip....not quite. This one landed in this field a few miles short of Oxford(OXC) after having engine trouble.

I like this picture. The Cessna 152 (N89071) with snow on it.

I was the pilot of 89071 that day with the engine failure....GREAT shot, I'm glad someone got a good shot of it!

I've flown this airplane before. We affectionately call it "Purple Death," because it's had so many issues (landing in the Connecticut river, electrical failures, throttle cables disconnecting, etc.) It's currently grounded because we found metal in its oil filter. Beautiful picture, BTW.

Wups, this plane didn't land in the river (I was thinking of N31SD). The rest is true though.

I have a special place in my heart for N89071. I took my commercial pilot checkride in it in 1999. I fly 757/767s internationally now. Thanks MC3!

I took my private checkride in this airplane on my 17th birthday, March 12, 1984, in Farmerville, Louisiana. Glad to see she is still around and looking great in new paint.
