Rare 'Window View' of RAAF Fairbairn taken from a Tiger Moth over Rwy 12 in 1969, as a rainstorm approaches from the North. The Port wings and struts frame 5 Squadron's Hangar 46 and the helipads occupied by Bell UH-1Bs and UH-1Ds. No 5 Squadron was training Iroquois Pilots and maintainers, who were then posted to 9 Squadron in Vung Tau, Vietnam. (5 Sqn later became the ADF Helicopter School, which moved to Oakey QLD in 2001.) I flew from Canberra to Adelaide in VH-CXY in Feb 1970.
