Built by DeHavilland Australia at Bankstown, NSW in August 1943. Originally built for South Africa as DX759, but delivered to RAAF. Sold by RAAF and became VH-BAR on 7.7.58. Kevin Bailey bought it in June 1975, restored it in June 1977. As at 1985 it had 3500 flying hrs total since built. Seen here with me in the cockpit, on first visit to Karratha (normally based at Jandakot). The aircraft performed a display at the Pilbara Festival at Paraburdoo and Tom Price, and Karratha was the only place nearby with a hangar.
