Unofficially named the 'Metal Moth', the original plywood box fuselage was replaced with a construction of metal stringers covered with doped fabric. Although the overall weight of the aircraft increased, maintenance became easier and the metal fuselages became standard for all later versions. Year of manufacture: 1929.
