The stunning show given by "Fifi Kate" at the Airshow Lelystad 2004 belied her age: three months earlier the old bird celebrated its 61st birthday! Although registered in the USA, this Dakota was based in England from 1995 until 2006. It received its RAF D-Day invasion markings in 2001. Unfortunately the aircraft crashed in Colombia as HK-4700 on 8 May 2014.

Nice Framing with the smoke trail. And its a 61 year old airliner at 90 degrees (more or less).

Aircraft have a distinct personality to me, and this flying machine was one of the finest and most dependable aircraft ever built. The aircraft was so dependable that often it would fly safely even though the pilot may have made some mistakes while trying to guide the bird throught the air. It was and still is the real pilot's "dream aircraft."
