N189G / JJ-100 (cn 74) Ex BuNo 146044. No.2 engine top cylinder blew in flight at 4000 feet over Indiana starting an oil fire and destroying engine. Unable to feather the prop due to destroyed control lines, this aircraft was set down with wheels up in a corn field. Thus damaging No.1 engine and fuselage too. Thanks to some excellent work by flight crew there was no injuries and it is hoped she will fly again.
