The real veteran of the Battle of Britain and maybe the most historic British aircraft to survive in flying condition from the Second World War. R4118 was build by Gloster factory, delivered to No. 605 (County of Warwick) Squadron at Drem on 17th August 1940. During the Battle of Britain it flew 49 sorties from Croydon airfield and shot down five enemy aircraft. After being damaged in battle on 22nd October 1940, the aircraft was rebuilt and transfered to No. 111 Squadron on 18th January 1941. Todays flies in original livery of No. 605 Squadron with code UP-W from August 1940 during the Battle of Britain period.
