Houston Police Department helicopters are called "fox units" due to the "F" ending on all their registrations. Their '300s are used for training. All pilots come from within H.P.D., have to have at least 4 years of patrol experience, and have no prior FAA license. Their '300s are also used for water supply anti-terrorist patrol since 9/11.
