I am very surprised. The wings are so short. It looks really interesting. Nice plane.

Thats a F-104 Starfighter. Also called the Flying Coffin in the Turkish Air Force (not used in the Air Force anymore). Many good men died because of engine failures. I still like her though. You can see that its designed like a rocket and the wings were put later on

-Yeager: "I got a feeling this here plane might just be able to beat that Russian record."
-Ridley: "Yea, ya might be right."

Later...

-Tower: "What kind of plane is that. Aircraft on taxiway, did you file a flight plan."
-Yeager: "Yea I'm just gonna go ring her out a little bit. Any objections?"
-Tower: "It's yeager! No sir, no objections."

Nice bird. But markings, nuber and paintings do not fit to a Starfighter of the german Air Force.

Tricky to fly or not, for sure it does look really good, maybe the nicest fighter ever built.

I always like fighter planes. the angle and lighting of this shot shows the f104 in good detail and illustates it's unique lines.

Where are the wings? The germans called them "flying coffins" also.

Really a wonderful aircraft! When my father was in the German Airforce he told me some nice things about this plane. They called it "Widowmaker" and if you want to get one just buy a big estate and wait until they fall out of the sky! Not really a good attestation for an aircraft but it is so damn beautiful!!!
