I would also like to know how a bulgarian air force mig 23 (especialy a airworthy example) made its way to texas of all places!

Yes, most definitely Bulgarian AF insignia on the tail. This MiG-23, formerly of Bulgaria's AF, was sold to the Cold War Museum in Texas a couple of years ago. For museum purposes all original insignia and camouflage were preserved, although the machine now has an US registration. An honorable fate for this Cold War veteran.
