This is a Nieuport 28 replica designation LF-1, one of three, built from original plans by Claude Flagg working for Garland Lincoln in 1938. This plane was built for the production of the Howard Hawks movie The Dawn Patrol. In 1961 it was owned by the late great Frank Tallman and was being flown from Las Angles to Pensacola, Florida along with N3440G a FG-1D Corsair as part of the 50 year Anniversary of Naval Aviation. That is Frank Tallman in the Nieuport running up the engine. Shot with Brownie Starflex

Aside from being a crystal clear vintage shot, this merits special merit for it's movie connection and historic significance.
