A visitor from United States posted Tue June 22, 2010:Great shot of this little hotrod. Not a fan of the standard 747's (i.e. nothing touches the 707), but the SP is a real cutie. Would have loved to have seen one in AA's retro colors.
A visitor from United States posted Sun November 2, 2008:The clarity and sharpness of the subject against indefinite background causes the image to stand out clearly
A visitor from Belgium posted Sat July 1, 2006:Fantastic shot: superb quality and taken from a place that not many will stand! I like the 747SP. It looks a little starange because of it being stubby and having the big tailfin, bit it is rare and has character. Also notice the engines on older 747s. They clearly show the fanjet's second airstream principle. Especially visible on this shot
A visitor from United States posted Wed May 10, 2006:It's a shame we dont see any of these anymore.
A visitor from Mexico posted Wed March 15, 2006:It would look great with APB winglets. T.B.
A visitor from India posted Sun February 5, 2006:I agree with the visitor from uk regarding the looks of the sp. with the tail close to the upper deck and the shorter stature does look a little awkward..its more than offset by the excellent paint scheme and glitteratti..gbala
A visitor from United States posted Tue January 31, 2006:AMR (AA's parent company) sold all their 74's to cargo carriers after not sustaining the amnt of passenges necessary to continue their service. The B777 now handles all the long haul flights for AA great pic though !
A visitor from United States posted Mon January 30, 2006:Great picture. I learned something though. Didn't know American had any 47's in operation at all. Get shot.
A visitor from Finland posted Sun January 29, 2006:SP is so cute! Shame that not many of them are in service today

A visitor from Poland posted Sun January 29, 2006:I am wondering if I might be onboard this plane !! I went to JFK from LHR on beginning of August 1991. Nice picture, Wingnut !!

A visitor from United States posted Sat January 28, 2006:Which is shorter? The 747SP or the 741?
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sat January 28, 2006:Not a fan of the SP whatsoever, short and ugly. BUT, this is a superb photo, given how long ago it was taken, and the rarity of seeing an AA 747, wonderful capture.
A visitor from Netherlands posted Sat January 28, 2006:I like the SP :)
A visitor from United States posted Sat January 28, 2006:I think AA should still use these. They dont have a variety of aircrafts like other airlines do. I Like this aircraft!!!!

A visitor from United States posted Sat January 28, 2006:I've enjoyed all the photos you have uploaded, thank you so much. This is my favorite, the SP is my favorite 747, and this livery is one that I wish that I could go to an airport and watch every day, but those times are gone. You've done wonderful work. Take care BRO. MCY
