A visitor from Ireland posted Mon May 29, 2006: I once saw this happen to a Britten Norman Trislander (G-FTSE) while on work experience with Aurigny in 2002 because they unloaded a palette of fruit from the nose before the tail ballast was removed. They blamed the pilot for being a "fat bugger". The aircraft was not damaged thanks to a pole inserted in the tail which arrested the Trislander's rotation. Although I think it's much more serious in this case...what with the MD-11 being exponentially larger...:p
