A visitor from United States posted Sat December 26, 2009:Pic captures crew busy at work as initialize landing sequence into Rio. Spectacular view draws my eyes to look out thru the windscreen for oncoming traffic and airport as climb above scenic mountainous terrain. Nice use of wide angle lens to capture the detail and compexity of a B737 flight deck! Is FMS data screen turned off? Optical illusion? Cudos to photographer! Well done!
A visitor from Brazil posted Sun March 16, 2008:As the Australian visitor has said, the skipper in the left hand seat is being checked and the other one is the check captain. To land at Santos-Dumont Airport (SBRJ), the captain must have a special training in reason of the short lenght of the runway (and First Officers aren't allowed to land there). Ah, and those captains are not twins - not even brothers :-p -JF-GOL/VRG

A visitor from United States posted Wed October 24, 2007:I guess if it comes to the crunch time, My question is who will be in charge? The one with the highest senority?
A visitor from United States posted Mon October 15, 2007:Such a wonderful view. This is almost perfect. Its a nice photo and the photographer just captured the cockpit right except for some shadows on the overhead controls. I've read confusions about speedbrake, in my experience, what the autobrake means is the auto-wheel brake (see the small white knob just left of the landing gear lever) when the plane touches down. In this case it is set to maximum wheel braking. And yes, flaps are set to full.
A visitor from United States posted Tue September 25, 2007:Note the new 737NG-style MCP! Great details, twin pilots, and an amazing approach. A complete package. 5*****
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sat August 11, 2007:Nice pic, and yes the captains look like twins!
A visitor from Australia posted Thu August 9, 2007:Wow, what an approach. Yes there are two captains. The skipper in the right hand seat is no doubt a check captain and the skipper in the left hand seat is no doubt the pilot being checked. I'd say he's being checked out for that particular approach or quite possibly has just upgraded to the 737 from a smaller aircraft.
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon August 6, 2007:Excellent! An amazing view. And someone said speedbrake is set to armed? Correct, but he said auto-breaks ;)
A visitor from United States posted Sat August 4, 2007:Is it just me or are there 2 captains in this pic?
A visitor from Ireland posted Sat August 4, 2007:Never been to rio yet but what a panoramic dream picture what a view , ps dont forget the airplane.
A visitor from Spain posted Sat August 4, 2007:I guess yo mean flaps (40º) because speed brake is set as "armed"
