I spent 5 days spotting from the location, however very lucky to have both jetliners caught in a perfect frame.

A visitor from Canada posted Tue March 21, 2006:5/5, extremely nice
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sat March 11, 2006:Can simply imagine the thrill of passengers of each aircraft watching the other land - the drama of reverse thrusters and the 747 overtaking the A320 on the ground as it slows down slower. Also the shot seems to turn the 747 into an eagle ready to prey on the exaggeratedly diminutive A320 what with the 747's main landing gear 'talons' angled the way they are...
A visitor from United States posted Sun February 26, 2006:This is one of my favorite pictures on this entire site.

A visitor from United States posted Thu January 26, 2006:Seeing this view allows me to see the exact angle at which the jumbo is approaching the runway and the position of the undercariage which i only could guess before
A visitor from United States posted Wed January 25, 2006:Actually a double approach is very common here at PHX and they happen at almost every landing with one just a tab bit ahead than the other. I was on AWA flight 639 on a 320 next to a SWA 738 on double approach. It was awesome.
A visitor from United States posted Tue January 24, 2006:Nice pic! From what I can tell the 747 is landing on 24L, the A320 on 24R, and the photographer is taking this pic on a plane heading to 25R. Also note that the IN-N-OUT Burger can be seen to the left of the FEARLESS sign. I would highly recommend stopping by there if anyone is in the LAX area, because of the nice view of planes. There are also airliners.net photographers there too. Who knows, you might just see Sam up in a cessna, lol.
A visitor from Portugal posted Sun January 22, 2006:Perfect timing, made it my desktop, just an ultra exciting photo! Congratulations to the photographer! Just wished I was there!!

A visitor from United States posted Fri December 23, 2005:Asking a pilot to maintain an airspeed typically applies to the approach to the landing. The approach belongs to ATC...below 1000 feet belongs to the pilot.
A visitor from United States posted Tue December 20, 2005:Superb photo. Are you sure the CX 744 was told to hold 170 KIAS?! Thats 18 Kts more than the approach speed at Max Landing Weight (152 KIAS) It could possibly be groundspeed, but approach speeds are seldom specified that way. Terrific picture nonetheless!
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon December 19, 2005:Gives you a good idea how big the 747 is
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Fri December 16, 2005:Its an amazing shot, taking with precise timing to get the effect of cat and mouse and plus it was takem at LAX which makes it even more breathtaking seeing how low the CX 744 actually is
A visitor from Sweden posted Mon December 12, 2005:Grrreat photo!
A visitor from United States posted Mon December 12, 2005:I work the finals @LAX from SCT (tracon) in San Diego. I can REALLY appreciate this shot because I was working that day in the radar room! AWESOME and thanks, one of my new desktop items! "GD" SCT
A visitor from United States posted Tue December 6, 2005:Good picture! I like the fearless sign underneath the A320. In someone else's words-the picture should be titled "one-two-three, I'm gonna eat you!" :)

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun December 4, 2005:Just superb!
A visitor from United States posted Sun December 4, 2005:An excellent shot. Contrast the moving traffic above with the stationary cars parked below. Also to have the two manufacturing rivals aircraft on same pic. The backdrop of the urban with the far away scenic hill view. Also on one side is the precision and calmness of the two landing craft which immediately contrasts with the hubbub of what awaits the disembarking travellers.
A visitor from Italy posted Sun December 4, 2005:Beautiful photo

I've been an aviation spotter and a photographer for over 30 years and a photo opportunity like this only comes once in a light year! A visitor from Hong Kong posted Sat December 3, 2005:Stellar shot. Kudos to the photographer. I have actually flown this airplane and that makes it even more special. Just a remark to the bonehead that made a comment on not wanting to be on either of these airplanes. I hope the comment wasn't directed at the ability of us CX pilots. We are some of the best trained and experienced pilots in the world. Your ignorance is obviously apparent.

A visitor from United States posted Thu December 1, 2005:I'll rate this shot with an A and as many plus signs as you want after that!
