Fantastic shot!

A visitor from - posted Fri December 24, 2010:
The snow between the frames is because that's where the insulation is - so the heat inside doesn't warm the skin there. Where the frame contacts the skin, there's more heat transfered from inside to the skin, so the snow melts. You can sometimes see the same thing happen to the roof of a house if the temps and amount of snow fall are just right.

Must have been lots of de-icing. Great winter shot.

Looks like someone was doing doughnuts in the snow. Maybe someone in a catering truck went crazy or something.

Whoah!

The photo captures the hive of activity involved in preparing an aircraft for flight. The tracks and footprints in the snow bear testament to this activity. If there was no snow, this may be just another picture.

Give me two trucks and I'll have her clean within the hour! :) Marvelously beautiful!

Why does the snow accumulate between the frames?

A visitor from United States posted Fri February 5, 2010:
5 stars for beautiful lighting, wonderful angle, and incredible clarity. Footsteps in the snow are clearly visible throughout the entire picture.

Frosty! Doesn't take long to pile up the white stuff, nice pic.
