Beautiful photo of one of the most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing aircraft around today. This is the only photo I've ever seen where I've liked virgin's hideous new billboard title liveries, I think it's because the awful purple isn't visible in this light. Dark red engines look good though.
On the A320, you leave the slats out after landing if the temperature is +30c.. it's probably the same on the 330/340..
Slats might be out to save some wear on the system, by this you reduce 1 cycle.(as they need to be out for take off anyway) Standard procedure in my company, and some more that I know of... Nice pic of a beautifull plane!
Good Detail & Contrast. UK Visitor, The slats (and flaps) are usually deployed to the No. 1 detent at the gate on A330/340 models. This is to help cool off the hydraulic system they utilize.
To the commentor wondering about the slats -- when jetliners have their engines shut and are parked, the rudder deflects completelly one way, one aileron will be down, the other up, and the slats come out on heavies
Any idea why the slats are out?
The TRUE Queen of the Skies!
Amazing airplane. The blue lights of the terminal look very nice.
