Incredibly clear shot! Fantastic! I also like the coffee idea of the streak! It would be a lot better than an oil leak! A very nice photo indeed! Keep them coming

A visitor from - posted Tue November 8, 2005:
Very nice, i wonder what that stain underneath is...

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon November 7, 2005:
Sitting for hours on end flying long haul, I don't suppose there's much better to do. Seriously though great opportunity and well captured, hence the 5 star post. I'm just sour grapes becuase not flying oceanic, the only chances I have had so far were head on's over France/Spain with more than Mach 1.5 closure. I've managed good results taken during stunning sunsets from FL380 and received praise from pro aviation photogs, but somehow not worthy of Airliner's unscrupulously high standars and therefore unshared with the many aviation enthusiasts among us. I don't know if it's because I'm unsubscribed or the rego wasn't captured?... regardless, I like the coffee theory, I know about drinking lots of it

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon November 7, 2005:
What a beautiful picture! The red and white stand out so clearly against the blue sky. Don't Virgin have some of the best registrations? G-VBIG - I was on this one from SFO to LHR in January. :)

A visitor from Netherlands posted Mon November 7, 2005:
Fabulous colors,very sharp.

A visitor from - posted Mon November 7, 2005:
Great photo! People have been asking about the brown streak on the lower fuselage surface. One thing it could be is coffee from one of the galleys. I'm a CRJ captain, and that is something we get if coffee is poured down the galley drain. The galley drain is vented through a heated drain mast on the underside of the fuselage.

A visitor from Iceland posted Mon November 7, 2005:
I am very interested in knowing what the brown trace on the plane's body is. Is it a fuel leak? Is it rust? If it is any of these, I would not like to be on that plane... Besides, the photo is superb.

A visitor from Argentina posted Mon November 7, 2005:

A visitor from United States posted Mon November 7, 2005:
I'm interested in the "oil streak" streaming down the underside of the fuselage from one of the outlets in the wingbox - what's that from? Only a shot like this can show up some obscure feature like that. Thanks!

Great to see for once on a.net an aeroplane in clean config. All shots we usually see are gear down and wings exploding with flaps and slats. That and the contrails give you an impression of 4-5 hundred knots airspeed. Cool!
