High over southern NSW we cross flight paths with a Virgin 737-700 going Adelaide-Sydney at FL370 with our 320 at FL360.Interesting 3 contrails out of this 738 with what looks like some fluid coming from a port side drain creating the middle trail.EOS20D 100-400L

The third contrail is coming from running APU (Additional Power Unit). Usually, it's shutting down on ground, after engines start.

- APU off.
- Hold on, I'm on the phone.
- Checklist complete.

What bothers me is what ELSE could they have forgotten to do.
