A visitor from United States posted Sat January 28, 2012:These pilots fly into St Barts and Saba with this plane every day...watch some videos of those approaches, they make TNCM approach a piece of cake by comparison. Nice picture Mr Brackx.
A visitor from Jordan posted Mon July 11, 2011:This is the first photo I see on A.net with an aircraft banking in this spot of SMX!!! Wow!!
A visitor from - posted Mon July 11, 2011:Fitting name for an airline that does a crazy approach like this. WIN! =)
A visitor from - posted Wed May 18, 2011:To the pilot; Next time do this in FSX - It's alot safer there! = doubleC Mw
A visitor from Jordan posted Thu July 15, 2010:Obviously he is coming from the baseleg and turning on final for a short approach, pretty normal for these aircraft, tower and yourself being okay with it. Just needs to straighten it out and get some energy out, pull the flaps and squuueeesh squuueeesh. Love this doing this stuff. P.S. you can still do a normal go-around
A visitor from United States posted Sun June 6, 2010:Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A visitor from Netherlands posted Wed May 26, 2010:Great shot! Must have been awkward to catch him that close but it's totally in focus. And for safety; it could be easily classifed as unsafe, but! He oviously uses excess speed and no flaps for agility and climb margin. To me it's a hell of a lot safer than that KLM 747 flaring over the water and barely making it over the fence.
A visitor from Belgium posted Sun April 25, 2010:No banking below 50 ft, that's what I learned...
A visitor from - posted Sun November 1, 2009:Amazing perspective of how close the light aircraft get to the onlookers sometimes. Although I have to wonder if this is some sort of new game like "see who can hit the most people on the beach". LOL
A visitor from United States posted Fri July 10, 2009:Mesmerizing!
A visitor from Canada posted Wed May 27, 2009:The co-pilot just asked the pilot to bank so he could look at the beautiful women on the beach
A visitor from Slovakia posted Sun May 17, 2009:Is that the RedBull Air Race..? :o))
A visitor from United States posted Mon May 11, 2009:Maybe he used to fly an F4U Corsair.
A visitor from United States posted Fri May 8, 2009:I think the pilot really misses Kai Tak, here we see him (or her) re-enacting the checker flag turn.
A visitor from United States posted Mon March 30, 2009:My mother-in-law must have been in the co-pilot seat. BA-BING!!!
A visitor from - posted Tue March 24, 2009:I have seen that approach before, didn't think it was going to land while we were waiting to take off.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Wed March 4, 2009:Always there are new extremes... maybe they are bored of low approachs and now the want "wings close to the beach" :P. Congratulations Thomas, this shot is awesome.

A visitor from Belgium posted Wed March 4, 2009:That is what i call last minute runway alignment :-)
A visitor from United States posted Wed March 4, 2009:It would have been very interesting to see how the non-airplane geeks on Maho reacted when the pilot did this maneuver!
A visitor from United States posted Wed March 4, 2009:That pilot has balls that clink. 5*
A visitor from Netherlands posted Wed March 4, 2009:This guy has balls, considering the Sunset Beach Bar is/was the favorite hangout spot of Winairs chief pilot!
A visitor from United States posted Wed March 4, 2009:Wow..so far this is the most interesting picture in sxm that ive seen..it`s so windy out there, look at leaves of the coconut trees in the background, thats the reason of abrupt banking of this bird.
A visitor from United States posted Wed March 4, 2009:What in the world called for an approach like that?
A visitor from Netherlands posted Wed March 4, 2009:Wow! It is stunning.. but how safe was this action? In my opinion not very safe
A visitor from - posted Wed March 4, 2009:Ummmm go around time maybe?
A visitor from - posted Wed March 4, 2009:Doubt it was a case of wind shear... Hotdogging like that over people in my company gets you an abrupt trip to the unemployment line. While it looks really cool, that's really foolish tipping a wing that close to people on an already low approach.
A visitor from Bosnia And Herzegovina posted Wed March 4, 2009:Approach, or aborted approach...? Anyway, great capture...!
A visitor from Netherlands posted Wed March 4, 2009:Best TNCM picture i have ever seen, love the blurry background, 5 stars !!!
