It sadly reminds me the tragik event at tenerife in 1977 with the same KLM 747...but it's a nice angle

It reminds me the sheriff against the bad guy in an old western movie. Nice picture!

I like it because the seven four is such a massive aircraft. it is a symbol and when you look at it from behind the bn-2, that isn't exactly the thing you want to see on a waiting for a takeoff roll head on at you. you got to think "are their shorts clean?"

Really nice 'cause a B747 under a wing of a BN on the RWY is not a daily shot
Anonymous

Great photo. I think that the 747 is terrified with the presence of the BN-2...

What does "back taxiing" mean??
Anonymous

Awesome photo! is it just me or are the outer engines of the 747 smaller than the inner ones?

The framing of the 747 under the wing of the BN-2 is amazing. Let the fight begin.

Ecellent framing - this is not a snapshot. One of the very best.

Fantastic picture! I assume that 747 just landed, turned and taxies to gates and BM-2 waits clearance for takeoff?

It is very hot situation to see the 747 and the small prop aeroplane together face to face on the same runway,in all times the air traffic controllers are doing a great job.

Very nice pic. I think the Britten would win easily in a duel, it would take off in half the runway while the jumbo would still be spooling up ! The 747 is back taxiing on the runway because there is no taxiway, so the only way to get to the terminal is by using the runway.

Nice Pic! I would be nervous in the Islander though, going by KLMs reputation on runways containing 2 aircraft and no t/o clearance! Huh tenneriefe..

To the American visitor 27/6/11; If the BN-2 pilot is smart, in a head-to-head the BN-2 holds the advantage; can duck under the 747 or, due to it's exceptional STOL performance, leap above if need be
