Juancho Yrausquin Airport. 1,312 ft, world's shortest commercial airport. Officially, the runway is permanently closed to all air traffic as is designated by the "X" on each end. However, aircraft are permitted to operate on Saba by obtaining waivers from the Netherlands Antilles' Civil Aviation Authority. (Konica Revio KD-410Z)

Nice eye for the layout. Great contrast between curvy road and straight runway. And a hint of what might be, if you miss it ;-)

The locals claim that Saba's runway is the shortest commercial airport runway in the world. It is 400 meters (1300 feet) in total length. The span of runway between the white lines marking the "usable" runway length measures just under 1000 feet.

You'd better check up your plane twice before landing this airport :)

This runway is insane. Wow! they could still extend the runway by constructing a bridge like extension. just like Madeira's.
