If you look carefully you will see the Twin Otter on finals to this extraordinary airport. The runway is a 1700ft strip running 12% uphill, on the edge of a deep ravine and ending at a sheer mountain wall. All landings are uphill (06), all take-offs downhill (24). Only captains with at least seven years' experience are allowed to fly there

No doubt RNP would be ideal for said airport.

Great view of the airstrip. I went through Lukla airport in April of 2006 and was totally amazed by its location and shortness of the runway.

I recently watched on History Channel TV a program about the "10 most extreme airports in the world", and you know what? the 1st one is Lukla - Tenzing-Hillary (LUA/VNLK)
