"Bayern", delivered to Lufthansa 23-05-70. Sold to Aer Lingus on 09-01-79 and reg. EI-BED. In February 1995 it was withdrawn from use and stored Marana, Arizona, USA. Sadly it was broken up in August 1996

Very interesting photo because if you search for 'Aer Lingus 747' you'll see a very sad photo of this same aircraft in Aer Lingus colours broken up in the Arizona desert in 1997. The aircraft was named 'St Ciarán/St Kieran' when in service with Aer Lingus. My parents flew on it to Boston from Dublin just before it was withdrawn from service, and as my name is Ciarán, they couldn't help but mention this on their postcard home!
