NASA817 rockets out of FLL to chase down Hurricane Earl. The special sensors for data collection are mounted on the roof as can be prominently seen. This gives away the presence of some very high tech scientific equipment in the cabin. The Genesis and Rapid Intensification Processes (GRIP) experiment is a NASA Earth science field experiment in 2010 that is being conducted to better understand how tropical storms form and develop into major hurricanes.
