Fabulous shot! It's great to see the shuttle program getting back into business! I also LOVE those P&W engines!

One of the most spectacular machines ever built, especially considering it has graced our sky for decades. Godspeed to the crew of Discovery and space exploration for all mankind.

Nice. Oddly enough, I hope the launch slips a few days so that I can be there for it. Fingers crossed for a successful mission.

Check that out; the power of eight Hoover Dams...have you seen films taken by the close up cameras during launch? When the three main engines kicks on, the whole Shuttle moves and strains against the bolts holding it down to the pad...it's awesome to have the whole shuttle flights under such tight control and get it to work. I salute the people making it happen!

Re: The guy with the guns...
He is probably part of the security force. Would you want some nutjob/terrorist to have access to this beautiful craft?

Look at the bottom left...a guy w/ an M4, and a sidearm. Wouldn't have seen that inside a secure facility like this before Sept. 11th. Sad indeed. Also LOVE the slow vehicle sign on the transporter...who's that warning for? Someone who can't see that huge white thing on the road?? :)

M4 and possibly an M9 for side arms. I'm better with my targets with the M16A2 than the M4.
