Unidentified Vampire NF.10 remains are seen here in the collection of the Cardiff Air Museum 31 years ago on the edge of Rhoose Airport, bearing evidence of early-‘50s RAF night fighter Dark Green and Medium Sea Grey camouflage. The Vampire night fighter served with 23, 25 & 151 Sqns between the demise of the Mosquito and introduction of the Meteor NF11, then with the Central Navigation and Control School at Shawbury. The fleet comprised a thwarted order for the Egyptian Air Force.
