Built to specification RE.197D at Radlett in 1960, the HP-115 was part of the Concorde development programme used for research into delta wing shapes at slow speed. Its first flight was 17/08/1961 at RAE Bedford taking part in the Paris Airshow at Le Bourget in 1965. It completed 500 flight hours before retirement in 1973 and powered by a Bristol Siddeley Viper producing 1,900lbs of thrust. Following retirement, it flew in to Cosford then was moved by road to the FAAM in 1979 (Canon 50D + Sigma 10-20 EX)
