Displayed along this nice International Harvester Truck, not much younger than her. Lucky Lady II,belonging to the 43rd BG and commanded by Captain James Gallagher became in March-April 1949 the first airplane to circle the world nonstop. This was achieved in 94 hrs. by refueling in flight four times. The B-50 herself was all but destroyed in an accident not long after the world flight. Her fuselage was salvaged and toured for a time as a recruiting exhibit before going on display at Planes of Fame Museum.
