Marked for the Myrtle Beach based 354th TFW, this 'SLUF' is actually a Vietnam War veteran. In November 1972 Captain Colin (Arnie) Clarke spent nearly 12 hours guiding Jolly Green Giants to rescue an F-105G crew who had been shot down. This stocky little plane took repeated damage from AAA batteries but won the day.
