Triple Zilch!! The sight of any US Navy or Marine aircraft carry a triple-0 side number is rare; it's usually reserved for admirals or generals. This early production Hornet bears such a number; its assigned unit is VMFA-321 Hells Angels, NAF Washington DC, so this would pertain to the Commanding General of the 4th Marine Air Wing (Marine Air Reserve). I was informed the markings were incomplete at this point. Apparently, the general's call sign was "Clam", as seen in the blue-gray area at the top of the tail.
