The Vampire Preservation Group’s extremely authentic-looking 1952 T.11 is seen here at the Kemble Air Day. Based at North Weald, it is believed to be the only airworthy T.11 in the northern hemisphere. Built at Christchurch, it served with 229 OCU Chivenor until 1959, then 8FTS Swinderby until 1961, 5 FTS Oakington in 1961, 3/4 CAACU, then from 1964 to 69 it was with the Central Air Traffic Control School, Shawbury. After restoration it became the first ex-RAF jet on the civil register in 1980.
