ZJ951 (cn DT036/ZD001/1236) This Hawk 128 ?AJT? demonstrator had been scheduled to arrive at Valley during the morning for inspection by 4FTS personnel before being flown back to Warton by the Chief of the Air Staff. However, its arrival was delayed until late afternoon, and an unservicability led to its remaining at Valley over night. It is pictured here on the 208 Sqn flight line as the sun sets. (Many thanks to John Williams, OC CMT, for facilitating the picture.) |

G-BRUG (cn 4462) Nigel Barratt’s 1946 Silvaire is seen here on take-off in a staggering side-slip at the start of one of the most dramatic flying demonstrations I’ve ever seen, at the Luscombe fly-in at Oaksey Park. Its performance included vertical wing-overs, low-level Immelmanns and long, curving one-wheel rollers, to the delight of the onlookers, all on 85 horse power. G-BRUG was previously registed N1735K. |

N707JT (cn 18740/388) [13:40] Creative shot of John Travolta’s immaculate "Jett Clipper Ella", painted in old Qantas colours (he is an ambassador for the airline). He arrived from Greystone (17FL) airport in Florida to visit Shamwari Game Reserve which is a short drive away from PE. Thanks to Nicholas and Andrew, who were working in the Control Tower at the time. The wind was gusting around 55 knots the whole day which made for some interesting landings. G-VEIL (cn 575) This is one shot that I have pre visualized, during the course of my 09 spotting season. Well, the wait is worth it. Finally captured Virgin on RWY 12. Here is 241 feet of metal touching down at MIA. |

G-VFAB (cn 24958/1028) "Lady Penelope", taxing to the active runway, just before a massive cell cloud covered the Miami area. She took off about 10 minutes early and had to do some dodging to avoid the storm off to the north. Lighting conditions were the best for this shot. She was just one week old, when they applied the 25th anniversary sticker. "Gotta love that Miami weather during the summer times".... |

N791AN / 7AY (cn 30254/289) Finally got her. I literally spent every spotting trip of my 09 summer looking for her. Every time I saw the OneWorld, she landed on the other runway of left at night or weather delays arose. Well finally nailed her, leaving to London, after my dad helped with the scheduling of her flight. Five minutes later and the sun would have been gone. Thanks American Airlines for this beautiful livery. |

F-WWDD / 28 (cn 004) Well a common sight now a days, but not for me since this is my first 380 ever. The size of this beast was just amazing. It clearly shows how big the engines are in comparison to the person under the engines. A few minutes after she departed did a demo and headed back home, a moment that will be remembered by me for years. Thanks Oshkosh for bringing this incredible aircraft. |
