Untitled
De Havilland DH-98 Mosquito FB26
Hamilton (YHM / CYHM)
Canada - Ontario, June 15, 2014
Remark
Photographer
N114KA / KA114/EG-Y (cn KA114) One of the few airworthy Mosquitos (ex ZK-MOS) flew in for the Father's Day weekend airshow hosted by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. As an added bonus, the Mosquito joined B-24 Liberator 'Diamond Lil' and the Museum's Lancaster for an exclusive night runup. Kilo Alpha seen just after engine start on the Warplane Museum Ramp. These night runups are always worth the money, and really give once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that can't be missed. Thanks to the CWHM for hosting such an event!

Remark
Photographer
NS519 / P "National Museum of the US Air Force" Serial RS709, ex G-ASKA, N9797 and G-MOSI. The DH-98 on display was manufactured in the UK in 1946 (later converted for towing targets) and is similar to the P.R. Mk. XVIs used by the USAAF. Flown to the museum in February 1985, this Mosquito has been restored to a Mk. XVI configuration and painted as NS519, a weather reconnaissance aircraft of the 653rd Bombardment Sqdn based in England in 1944-45. (Ref: USAF Museum website) [Nikon D800 / AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm]

Untitled
De Havilland (BBC) DH-98 Mosquito
Northampton - Sywell (ORM / EGBK)
UK - England, August 31, 2013
Remark
Photographer
F-PMOZ / PZ460/NE-K (cn 01) This is a 3/4 scale Mosquito which first flew on 23rd April 2011. It looks remarkably like the full size aircraft, a real tribute to the 30,000 hours and 17 years of work. The livery is that of an aircraft lost on 15th January 1945 in Norway, piloted by Max Guedj with Flight Lieutenant Langley as Navigator. It was a welcome visitor to the LAA Rally
