XR724 (cn 95207) Belonging to 5 Squadron caught landing at its home base. By April 1988 it was flown by BAe at Warton as chase aircraft in Tornado radar development trials and was then flown into storage at Shawbury. Tendered by the MoD in 1991, it was purchased by the Lightning Association and flown to Binbrook on 23rd July 1992, where it still resides today. |

XS904 (cn 95250) Belonging to 11 Squadron caught landing at it's home base. Later this Lightning was fitted with over-wing tanks and was involved in BAe Tornado F3 Radar Development trials at BAE Warton by April 1988. It was finally delivered to the Lightning Preservation Group, Bruntingthorpe, Leics, in January 1993, Where its still current in taxiing condition. |
