G-BEPS (cn SH1822) This Belfast last flew at the end of April 2001 when it flew to Southend for storage, it was scrapped in November 2008. Parked together with the Heavylift operated IL-76, an unusual sight for Luton. This IL-76TD CCCP-76758 (cn 0073474203) was leased from Volga-Dnepr Airlines, later as RA-76758 it was damaged beyond repair by typhoon Pongsona at Won Pat International Airport, Guam on 8th December 2002. |

Only ten of the originally ordered thirty Belfasts were built, all for the RAF. It's a huge aircraft at 41m long with a wing span of 48m, weighing 56 tons empty and more than double that fully loaded.
