342 (cn 004) "SAAF Museum" The Cheetah was a South African development of the French built Mirage III. 38 single-seat Cheetah C's, like the one in the picture, have been built and were retired in 2008 when Saab gripens took over their duties. [Nikon D700 / AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm]

342 (cn 004) Nicknamed "Spotty" for obvious reasons, this is one of 38 Cheetah C variants which constituted South Africa's only fighters until superceded by the JAS39 Gripen in 2008. Ecuador will now be the only country flying this Mirage-derived design, taking 12 ex-SAAF examples
