A20-624 / 624 (cn 19624/689) Another Farewell Visit to Canberra by the last operational RAAF Boeing 707. The aircraft has performed '29 Years of service to the Nation'. 'Farewell B707 - 1979-2008'. She was officially retired at Richmond late in June 2008. The aircraft is taxying away from the Former RAAF Fairbairn apron. There is a Special 'Farewell Logo' on the tail of this 33 Squadron aircraft. (A20-624 was formerly Qantas VH-EAD). |

A20-623 (cn 19623/671) Airborne Cabin View in empty 'Combi' A20-623 after being modified to Tanker Role, by Israel Aircraft Industries staff at the Hawker de Havilland Hangar at Tullamarine. She was the fourth and last Tanker Mod aircraft. Photo taken (looking aft) at 25,000 feet over Bass Strait during a 5.6 hour Post-Mod Test Flight, which included AAR of a Hornet over Wagga NSW. Originally Qantas VH-EAC (Cn 19623 Del 1968), sold to RAAF June 1983, and converted to Tanker Role in May 1992 and retired in 2007. Low res photo. |

A20-624 (cn 19624/689) Looking extremely shiny, this 707 was obtained from Qantas in 3.79 and was the last to be retired by the RAAF in a celebration on 30.6.08. A week later it was towed to the 33 Sqdn hangar at Richmond and parked with the other withdrawn 707s. See my 1972 shot as VH-EAD also on A.net |

A20-624 (cn 19624/689) Window View (over Stbd wing) of RAAF 33 Sqn Boeing 707-338C Tanker A20-624, after take-off from Hickam AFB, Hawaii on 13Jun1994. The B707 was heading for Nadi Fiji (a 6.0 hour trip.) The Military Airfield below is NAS Barbers Point. There are 18 P-3 Orions on the concrete apron at center-left, and 18 more near the top of the photo. This base had more Orions than the entire RAAF P-3 fleet. Helicopters are also visible at left, as well as two C-130 Hercules near the shoreline. Low res photo. |

She was retired on 30Jun2008. |
