Boeing 717-22A
Honolulu - International / Pearl Harbor-Hickam JB (Hickam AFB) (HNL / HIK / PHNL / PHIK)
USA - Hawaii, August 16, 2011
Remark
Photographer
N477HA / 77 (cn 55122/5061) The Waianae mountain range looms in the background as N477HA approaches runway 04R from Hilo as HA201. Starting in 2017, Hawaiian Airlines will add to its fleet of narrowbodies as the airline has recently firmed orders for 16 A321NEO (with rights for an additional 9) which would complement their A332 and B763 flights to the US Mainland, as well as opening new markets from the Neighbor Islands.

Hawaiian Air
Boeing 717-22A
Honolulu - International / Pearl Harbor-Hickam JB (Hickam AFB) (HNL / HIK / PHNL / PHIK)
USA - Hawaii, January 4, 2010
Remark
Photographer
N477HA / 77 (cn 55122/5061) When Hawaii's prevailing tradewinds stop blowing, vog (volcanic haze) from the Big Island's active Kīlauea Volcano can quickly spread throughout the main Hawaiian Island chain. In addition to the reduced visibility, these conditions bring along unfavorably hot and humid weather. A Hawaiian B712 is photographed completing another inter-island hop, bathed in a characteristic reddish hue from the vog and low sun.
