62-4126 (cn 18466) Military Airlift Command (MAC) C-135B 62-4126 taxies onto the RAAF Fairbairn apron during a VIP Visit to Canberra on a sunny day in 1968. This aircraft was later upgraded to a VC-135B (with blue/white paint scheme) for VIP duties, and carried 'United States of America' titles. Surprisingly, she re-appeared in late 2006 as an RC-135V 'Rivet Joint' aircraft, operated by 55WG Offutt AFB. (I also photographed 'Sister-Ship' VC-135B 62-4129 in Canberra in 1983.) Low res photo. |

62-41** Taxiing to Rwy 19. This is a C-135B, possibly either 62-4129 (cn 18469) or 62-4130 (cn 18470) used to transport congressional members and members of the president's cabinet. The engines don't have the turbocompressors on the engine like the 707s stationed at Andrews AFB, MD. These aircraft have the wide body interior installed and are maintained by a very dedicated maintenance crew. |
