Condolences are extended to his family and friends. The picture shows Col taking off in VH-AUB at a Temora Flying Day in Nov 2007, before a very professional handling display in his Mustang aircraft. VH-UFO / A68-187 (cn 1412) Rare View of the world's only 'Dart-Stang' at Canberra Airport in 1975. The CA-18 Mk 21 Mustang, formerly RAAF A68-187, was owned by Hockey Treloar. He replaced the Rolls Royce Merlin engine with a Rolls Royce Dart (as used in Viscount airliners). The Dart exhaust is visible in this photo. The Modified Mustang failed to achieve Civil Certification, and she was later returned to Standard configuration and sold to USA. This aircraft was displayed in 2007 as a TF-51D, Reg NL50FS (Marked as TF-839) at KLCK. |
