5Y-TAJ (cn 108) In flight between South Sudan and Lokichoggio in Northern Kenya. The unpressurised Buffalo is quite noisy inside, and the seats have a rather temporary feel to them. These Buffaloes are part of the relief operation, operated by the UN and World Food Programme, as southern Sudan recovers from more than 20 years of war. |

C-GCTC (cn 103) C-GCTC on its absolutely final approach. The wind was blustery, and a sudden gust from the rear presented the pilot with a sudden drop in airspeed. He was already 'on the limit', making a dramatic steep STOL approach, and his luck ran out... Rate of descent can be judged from the blurred Rwy lights, showing how much I was having to tilt the camera to keep the aircraft in frame. |

C-GCTC (cn 103) The end of C-GCTC as the final, doomed approach reaches its conclusion. As far as I know all the crew escaped with nothing more than very minor injuries. I narrowly escaped being flattened by an errant nose-wheel! |
